We employ a variety of techniques- trolling, jigging, bottom fishing and of course fly fishing, we target offshore species such as Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo, and Marlin, as well as reef species such as Jacks, Barracuda and a variety of table fish.

While catching fish is a very large part of what we do, it is also very important to us that all of our guests have a fantastic experience all around. To that end, we offer services that no one else in Costa Maya or Mahahual offers.

    Costa Maya Sport Fishing operates a 25 ft customised fishing lancha equipped with downriggers, out of Mahahual with our own experienced captain and crew. No strangers to the water, our crew are all fisherman born and raised in the village.

  • Our Electronics

    Our boat is equipped with a state of the art CHIRP sonar, one of the most sophisticated sonar technologies available for fishing and boating. This is a tremendously useful and powerful tool to be able to fish large expanses of open water effectively and it is a significant competitive advantage against other boats.

  • Nacional Beach Club

    Our tours all begin and end at Nacional Beach Club in the beautiful heart of Mahahual. Begin and end your trip in paradise with cool drinks and great food. Ask us about preparing your catch in our beachfront restaurant!

  • Blue Water Fly Fishing

    That's right, we take the fly rods out in search of the big boys as well. For the blue water fly fishing enthusiast, we have an extensive selection of high end saltwater fly fishing tackle. We use Sage, Scott Meridian, Thomas & Thomas, TFO, and Orvis Rods in a range of weights from 6# to 14#, kitted out with Tibor, Abel, Nautilus, Sage, Lamson and Ross Reels. PLEASE SPECIFY IF YOU PREFER FLY FISHING RATHER THAN TRADITIONAL TROLLING.

  • Safety

    Safety is, of course, paramount. We always carry a Standard Horizon HX870 safety radio and GPS, which offers a whole new level in safety and performance. In addition we are always equipped with ample life jackets, rescue tubes, intimate knowledge of local conditions and a healthy dose of common sense.
